Introduction
Our client loves Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and sets of 3 square inset illuminated purple 'cathedral' glass details nod to the master. They are on a concealed dimmer switch to also provide ambient night lighting.
Process
We created a horizontal dynamic by running the worksurface around the room and relocating the sink, and made a 'sweet spot' for cooking with a view of the garden beyond. Walnut veneers wrap around the peninsular.
Original features abound and this blocked window has been made into illuminated glass shelving with walnut surround. The solid walnut detailing continues around the top of the splashback and the cornicing.
Finished Project
Beauty is in proportions, materials, finishes and quality craftsmanship. Generous pan drawer feature horizontally laid book matched walnut veneer fronts, complementing the timber cornice details to wall and fridge cabinetry.
