Our clients were embarking on a new build project with local architects Snell David, who recommended they speak to us (we have worked together very successfully in the past) for a kitchen design. The brief was for a very individual kitchen with a bit of character and quirkiness, and a bit of ‘bling’. We had great fun with the design, and went through a few ideas for the doors on the wall cabinets, finally settling on this recessed detail. The finger details and plinths are all in burnished brass, with our bespoke antique finish. There is a glazed pocket door to the pantry, and a beautiful slender Fumed Oak interior and shelving to the breakfast cabinet. The large rooflight was a challenge to get everything to line up just right, and the projection around the ovens brings more interest and humour to the design. The cabinet above the sink houses a drying rack for plates - a feature very common in Scandinavian kitchens.
