Clarendon

Introduction

The owners of this period Cambridge townhouse wanted a light bright contemporary kitchen with real wood accent features in their lower gound floor kitchen. We thought lighting, space and a horizontal theme.

Process

We provided a choice of veneers and this beautiful fumed larch was selected – we were the first people to buy it from our London suppliers – as far as we know the only makers to use it in a kitchen!

The beautiful grain and rich colours are accented with book matched veneering – this effect only possible with veneers where they are laid up in sequence for doors which have been specially made and lipped.

Finished Project

The oven and hob elevation is cantilevered off the wall and underlit to maximise the visible floor – this increases the feeling of space in the kitchen as well as the light levels. Siemens appliances were selected.

Meticulous attention to detail, be it in the selection and laying of veneer, the calculation of shadow gaps, choice of colour – in this case a subtle off-white create moments of perfection in your kitchen.
